About Brian Galindo
My journey as a service dog trainer began in 2008, when a serious motorcycle accident left me in a wheelchair with a spinal chord injury and other debilitating medical issues. I spent that Thanksgiving and Christmas alone in the hospital. It was probably the lowest point in my life. As an active person who had previously prided himself on his independence and adventuresome spirit, the next 2 years I struggled with depression. As if my personal medical and emotional struggles weren't enough, I lost my dad to colorectal cancer and my wife to accidental overdose. I had no idea what to do with what was left.
By luck, grace, or destiny, I watched a documentary on PBS titled “Through a Dog’s Eyes” and read the book it was based upon. In the book, author Jennifer Arnold describes how dogs help people with disabilities gain independence, and the powerful bond between dog and human. I learned about the challenges that Arnold faced in her life, and how dogs helped her overcome them. When my wife passed I made a promise that whatever I did with the rest of my life would be positive and do good in the world. My family would always comment about how animals, especially dogs, would take a special interest in me. I’ve loved animals my whole life. Could I do what Jennifer Arnold did?

I researched "service dogs" and "service dog schools" online and found Bergin University of Canine Studies, and fortuitously it was only 100 miles from where I lived at the time. I packed up my worldly possessions and my 2 cats, Guido & Katrina, and moved to Santa Rosa in 2011. I graduated from BUCS with an Associate’s Degree in Assistance Dog Education in 2012. I then began an internship with Sonoma Humane Society for the next 3 years. It was there that I learned advanced canine body language as well as how to instruct dog handlers. In 2015 I was hired by SHS as an independent contractor to teach their Therapy Dog program.
By popular demand, I opened No Limits! Service Dog and Obedience in 2015 to offer private training and mentoring for those who wish to train their own dogs to help them with their disabilities. I work one on one and in small groups at locations all over Sonoma County. I use force free training concepts that are easy to learn and easy to teach your dog! Fill out my short questionnaire and include any questions if you have them. You can also call me @ (707)657-7123 and leave a short message. I will get back to you within 24 hours. I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Brian Galindo
